Along with our wonderful Valentine’s Day offerings, Gettysburg has many places and events that you can visit and make lovely memories together. 

Visit the Jennie Wade House and learn of a bittersweet civil war love story. Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed during the Battle of Gettysburg. She was baking bread at her sister’s house to give to the army when a stray bullet came through the house, fatally injuring Jennie. She was said to be “betrothed to Corporal Johnston “Jack” Skelly, a childhood friend turned romantic interest.
